CARMEL VALLEY - The Big Sur Land Trust has acquired 83.5 acres of property atop Patriarch Ridge in Carmel Valley. Nikki Nedeff, associate director of conservation with the Big Sur Land Trust, called the land a `puzzle piece` that connects conserved land. It sits adjacent to the Big Sur Land Trust´s Mitteldorf Preserve land and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife´s Joshua Creek Ecological Preserve, with a smaller border against the Santa Lucia Conservancy´s Santa Lucia Preserve.
