State lawmakers happy with UPMC-Highmark agreement

The 10-year agreement announced Monday between UPMC and Highmark was praised by local legislators who said it was great news for their constituents and other western Pennsylvania residents.State Sen. Elder Vogel Jr., R-47, New Sewickley Township, said in a statement that “the heated dispute between UPMC and Highmark created much anxiety and threatened the well-being of many people across our region. This new agreement alleviates these problems for the foreseeable future. ......
