Winter-run hatchery Chinook return to Battle Creek

RED BLUFF - Wildlife and water management officials are heralding the early returns of a special group of winter-run Chinook salmon this spring to the Coleman National Fish Hatchery on Battle Creek. As of Thursday, 13 of the hatchery fish released into Battle Creek a year ago who journeyed to the ocean had found their way back to the hatchery.
