Falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths among adults 65 and older, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Every year, nearly one-third of seniors fall and three million are treated for fall-related injuries in emergency departments. One in five falls results in a serious injury such as head trauma or fractures.
