Free flu shots offered at West Covina Library

The West Covina Library, 1601 West Covina Parkway, is giving out free flu shots from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The event is part of a countywide effort to provide free influenza vaccines at local libraries. Health officials recommend everyone 6 months of age and older be vaccinated against the flu each year. Last year, 77 people died from the flu in Los Angeles County, according to the health department. Young children, pregnant women, adults ages 65 and older and people with chronic medical conditions are most at risk of serious flu complications.
