Dirranbandi is a small town fighting for its future. Numbers at the local school have more than halved since water buybacks began and no one knows if the town can survive the loss of more water. But residents are showing a remarkable resilience in the face of ongoing uncertainty. A few months ago, the Parents and Citizens` Association was disbanded as exhausted volunteers stepped down.
