Doctors have been reissued with ethical guidance as Northern Ireland's hospitals brace for the worst surge of the Covid-19 crisis. Health bosses have warned the system is facing unprecedented pressure with the number of patients needing intensive care treatment set to peak in the coming days. As of last night, there were 840 coronavirus patients in the region's hospitals - 67 in ICUs. The numbers in ICUs are set to increase in the coming days and peak before the end of the month. Yesterday 25 more virus-linked deaths were confirmed, with a further 22 announced on Saturday. Some 1,527 cases were also recorded over the weekend - 822 yesterday and 705 on Saturday.
