Monterey County colleges get millions in federal grant funding

SEASIDE — Rep. Jimmy Panetta’s office announced Friday CSU Monterey Bay, Monterey Peninsula College and Hartnell College will receive more than $7.1 million in federal grant funds through the Student Support Services program. The Student Support Services program is one of the U.S. Department of Education`s federal TRIO programs. It is designed to provide academic and other support services to low-income, first-generation or disabled college students.
