Punjab to release over 3,500 prisoners

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has decided to release over 3,500 more prisoners soon to decongest jails to 50% of authorised capacity in view of the spike in Covid-19 cases and to ensure compliance with health protocols in prisons.
