AIIMS brings ultra-modern device to save SARI patients

Nagpur: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, has procured the Biofire FilmArray Torch, a state-of-the-art multiplex assay which detects 22 respiratory pathogens responsible for causing Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI). In the Covid-19 pandemic, about 30% of the cases have been detected with SARI. At present, this equipment is only available at AIIMS, Nagpur, in the entire state.
