Resistance is futile.At San Diego Comic-Con, CBS unveiled the first trailer for Star Trek: Picard. Set 23 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, the new series will focus on its namesake, Jean-Luc Picard (Sir Patrick Stewart), who captained the USS Enterprise-D on Star Trek: The Next Generation for seven seasons.In the time since, Picard has evidently retired from Starfleet and retreated to the Picard family vineyard. But when a mysterious woman shakes him out of his complacency, he goes back to space and realizes it`s where he was always meant to be.The trailer features all types of `blink-and-you`ll-miss-it` references. But one thing that surprised most viewers was the appearance of a Borg cube. The Borg are a cybernetic race--humanoids, augmented with technology. Their backstory is deliberately murky, which adds to their mystique and intimidation.Their overarching goal is to assimilate other species into their own via use of specialized technology.
