The combined sales of the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has been able to stay ahead of the aligned sales of the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 460. In the last month the last generation has closed the gap by 562,367 units. However, in the last 12 months the gap has grown in favor of the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One by 2.38 million units. The last generation of consoles in its first 18 months sold 47.52 million units, while the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One has sold 54.37 million units. The Switch, PS4 and Xbox One currently leads by 6.85 million units. The last generation of consoles sold a combined 274.35 million units during their lifetime, while the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One has sold 142.04 million units through August 2018.
