Fortnite`s 5.21 update is now available across all platforms, introducing yet another new weapon to the game--the Heavy Sniper--and making a handful of bug fixes to both Battle Royale and Save the World. On top of that, the patch marks the start of two new limited-time modes: Soaring 50s and the returning Sniper Shootout.Soaring 50s is the latest iteration of the popular 50v50 mode, albeit with an `extra emphasis on mobility.` As before, players are divided into two teams of 50. Loot, ammo, and resource levels are the same as in previous versions of the mode, but this time, players will have a greater chance of coming across Launch Pads, Boost Pads, and Impulse Grenades. Players will also be able to redeploy their gliders when falling from more than 10 meters.Sniper Shootout, meanwhile, plays largely the same as previous iterations of the mode. The only weapons players will happen upon here are sniper rifles, and the spawn rate of floor loot has been reduced by 50%. This time around, the Scoped Assault Rifle has been removed, with the newly added Heavy Sniper in its stead. You can read more about each new LTM in the patch notes below and on Epic`s official website. The aforementioned Heavy Sniper is the latest weapon introduced in Battle Royale. This particular gun can be found in Epic and Legendary variants from floor loot, chests, Vending Machines, and supply drops, and it deals heavy damage to structures. Epic has also resolved an issue with grenades that prevented their damage from being counted toward last week`s grenade challenge.Save the World mode, on the other hand, adds a new hero as part of the 5.21 update: Thora, who will be available from the Event Store beginning 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET on August 15. Epic has also introduced a new weekly Horde Challenge and resolved a handful of bugs in the mode.Fortnite 5.21 Patch NotesLimited Time Mode: Soaring 50s: This mode is a twist on the traditional 50 vs 50 mode, featuring an extra emphasis on mobility.
