In a bizarre piece of news, a sleeping man was recently attacked by his samurai sword-wielding girlfriend, who was reportedly angered by a dating app on his phone and his gaming habits. Despite the injuries he sustained, however, he seems to be feeling pretty positive about the whole situation. After all, as he puts it, `I was just so proud for beating this samurai wannabe crazy lady with hate in her heart.`That`s what 29-year-old Alex Lovell told The Oregonian/OregonLive this week following the incident, which landed him in the hospital. He was attacked by 30-year-old Emily Javier, whom he had been dating for two years. As reported by OregonLive, she`s now facing an attempted murder charge for the incident and will be in court on May 7. A police report suggested she was enraged by evidence that he could be cheating on her (which he denies), as well as the fact that he spent upwards of 12 hours a day playing PUBG. (Lovell said, `I wasn`t a sweaty nerd, more of an Ethlete.`) In response, she purchased a samurai sword and taped it to the side of their bed, and then hid his phone so he couldn`t call for help. She then attacked him with the sword in the dark.`I saw the look in her eyes, and it scared the living poop out of me,` he said. `I told her I loved her, and she was killing me. She needed to call police, or I was going to die.`Javier did then apparently call 911, telling the operator she had attacked her boyfriend with a sword (prompting the response, `You used a sword?`). She also said that she thought he was dead. Among his `gnarly` injuries were deep cuts to his feet and legs, and he claims to have nearly lost several fingers but that doctors were able to reattach them. He may not be able to walk on his own for months.For as gruesome as this all is, Lovell`s reaction to the news is not at all what you`d expect.
