Battlefield 1 will receive another batch of new content in just a few weeks` time. EA has announced that Apocalypse, the fourth DLC expansion coming to the WW1 shooter, launches in February for those who own the game`s Premium Pass.As with previous expansions, the major addition comes in the form of maps. Apocalypse brings a total of five, including the `bloody, muddy hell of Passchendaele and the Austro-Italian clash of Caporetto portray two of the most infamous battles of World War I.` EA also described another this way: `The scenic wheat fields by River Somme transform into a nightmare after devastating artillery barrages.`Two of the other new maps, London Calling and Razor`s Edge, have been specifically designed for a new game mode called Air Assault. Further specifics on this weren`t shared, but the new maps are only playable in this mode. You can see concept art of the new maps below.Apocalypse also introduces other new elements although, again, we don`t know much about them. EA says it includes new vehicles, weapons, gadgets, ranks, service assignments, specializations, and dog tags. Before Apocalypse arrives, Premium Pass owners will get the North Sea `campaign` component of the previously released Turning Tide DLC. This launches later in January and includes two new maps (Zeebrugge and Heligoland Bight), the British Empire Royal Marines, and the C-Class Airship. Additionally, all Battlefield 1 owners now have free access to a previously DLC-exclusive map, Prise de Tahure.
