European officials fear for Alexei Navalny after arrest in Moscow​​​​​​​

European leaders have condemned the arrest of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny on his return to Moscow and called for his immediate release after he flew back to Russia for the since time since he was poisoned in the summer of 2020. Russian officials said he was detained moments after his arrival in Moscow for multiple violation of 2014 suspended sentence for fraud. Germany`s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said the detention of Mr Navalny was “totally incomprehensible”.
