General Mills hits earnings marks, but sales stay weak

General Mills Inc. continues to struggle to lift sales of some of its biggest product categories, on Wednesday reporting softer-than-expected revenue even as it met profit targets. The Wall Street Journal has an early take on the company`s fiscal fourth quarter results from Golden Valley-based General Mills (NYSE: GIS), which posted earnings of $570.2 million, or 94 cents a share in the quarter ended May 26, up from from $354.4 million, or 59 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
