News Release Date: April 23, 2019 The National Park Service (NPS) plans to conduct a prescribed fire in two burn units this spring, and as soon as this week, at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (National Lakeshore). This is the first broadcast (wide area) prescribed fire to ever be held at the National Lakeshore and is the start of using fire as a management tool for the years to come.
