Ionia, Montcalm county prosecutors, sheriffs speak out against marijuana proposal

Both prosecutors and sheriffs in Ionia and Montcalm counties have come out against a statewide ballot proposal for recreational marijuana. Ionia County Prosecutor Kyle Butler and Montcalm County Prosecutor Andrea Krause have added their names to a public statement from Healthy & Productive Michigan against Proposal 1, as have Ionia County Sheriff Dale Miller and Montcalm County Sheriff Mike Williams. Proposal 1 would legalize recreational marijuana for adults 21 and older. Personal possession would be limited to 2.5 ounces and households would be allowed to have up to 10 ounces and 12 plants.
