Spiro Mounds sets family day

A day of free family fun is set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Spiro Mounds. Activities will include ancient Native American games; an archaeological sandbox “dig” for children; a guided tour with site manager and Spiro expert Dennis Peterson; free artifact identification with experts; talks about the archaeology of the region; and more. Parking and admission are free.
