R&B Singer Aretha Franklin Dead at 76 After Long Illness

Music legend Aretha Franklin died early Thursday at the age of 76 after a long illness, The Associated Press reported. Reports began circulating Sunday evening the R&B singer was in the hospital and `gravely ill,` the report said. Franklin´s final public performance took place in November 2017, the AP reported. Born in Memphis, the report said, Franklin grew up in Detroit as a singer in her father´s church. Recognized for her powerful voice, she quickly rose to the top of the R&B charts in the 1960s with memorable singles including `Respect,` `Chain of Fools` and `I Say A Little Prayer.` Franklin was the recipient of 17 Grammys and was awarded three other special awards, the report said....
