Farmers offered 3 times circle rate for Jewar airport land

GREATER NOIDA: The UP government has agreed to offer farmers in Jewar a rate of Rs 2,300 per square metre for land that it wants to acquire for the proposed international airport. The rate is almost three times the current circle rate of Rs 900. Farmers had, however, sought four times the circle rate. The government has, however, said this is not the final rate, which will be decided after more rounds of consultation with farmers.
