Vidarbha to get Rs958 crfrom special package

Nagpur: Schemes and projects aimed at increasing income of farmers and rural poor will get a Rs 958 crore boost in the economically-stressed Vidarbha region. This was spelt out jointly by divisional commissioners of Nagpur and Amravati after a special meeting of Vidarbha Statutory Development Board (VSDB) here on Friday. `These schemes are part of the special Rs22,000 crore package that state finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar announced for Vidarbha and Marathwada regions in his marathon speech on July 20 at the end of monsoon session of the state legislature,` said Nagpur divisional commissioner Anoop Kumar.
