FirstEnergy video informs residents, businesses about increasing attacks by scammers

Utility scammers in Summit County are becoming more brazen in their efforts to rip off individuals and businesses alike, FirstEnergy reports. Last year, FirstEnergy customers reported 959 scams, which is double the number reported in 2016, the company said. To inform individuals and businesses about the various scam techniques, FirstEnergy created `Hang Up, Don`t Pay Up,` a video starring real people who have had `near misses` with these crimes.
