Following the sound of stringed instruments down the tiled floor and through the hallways adorned with crayon drawings, Jacob Frank entered the elementary school auditorium where dozens of students wearing reindeer antlers prepared for rehearsal. With less than a week until the Decatur Youth Symphony´s annual winter concert, every second of the daily 7:15 a.m. sessions focused on fine-tuning the holiday pieces `Jingle Bells,` `Jolly Old Saint Nicholas` and `Into the Sky.` The free community concert featuring more than 250 young musicians under the direction of Frank, the symphony´s artistic director, will take place Monday at 7 p.m. at the Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts.
