Lorain County judge convicts Vermilion woman in husband`s 2009 slaying

Lorain County Common Pleas Court Judge Mark Betleski handed down the verdict weeks after the two-week-long trial. Simko, who said an intruder shot her husband, was charged more than five years after his killing. She is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. Oct. 27.
