Man hospitalized after shooting himself at east Colorado Springs apartment

A man was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries after shooting himself Saturday in his apartment at an east Colorado Springs complex, police said. The victim called police shortly after 2 p.m. When officers arrived at the El Vecino Apartments at 1800 Monterey Road, they had to force their way into the man`s apartment because he was unable to get to the door.
