Scarecrows offer wisdom, fun at 12th annual Preston festival

PRESTON - Talk about a bunch of stuffed shirts.Some 45 scarecrows - each dressed in different garb - were scattered around the grounds of Preston City Congregational Church and along a makeshift Main Street on Saturday, just in time for the church`s 2017 Scarecrow Festival.`They all get here at the last minute,` Joy Chalifoux, a church volunteer and co-chair of the event along with Bob Vescovi, said. `The last 48 hours, we didn`t have this many.
