Ellen Hovde, Documentarian Who Co-Directed ‘Grey Gardens,’ Dies at 97

Hovde co-directed the 1975 documentary about East Hampton shut-ins Edie Beale and her mother, Edith Beale, with the Maysles brothers. She died in February, but her passing was shared July 11 by The New York Times.
