First Baptist Fort Lauderdale pastor resigns, search begins

Pastor James Welch, whose four years at the helm of the sprawling First Baptist Church in downtown Fort Lauderdale was marked by controversy, has resigned and the congregation has launched a search for a replacement, church officials said.
