The night was perfect, a few days after a full moon. Balmy air. Calm water. All the conditioned aligned for staghorn coral to mingle their eggs and sperm on the gentle incoming tide. But these weren`t just any staghorn coral. They were lab babies bred by researchers at the University of Miami in an effort to find the `Lionel Messi` of the reef: corals more resistant to climate change.
