Disturbance forms in eastern Atlantic, breaking streak of inactivity during hurricane season

The National Hurricane Center is tracking a disturbance that emerged from western Africa and into the far eastern Atlantic Ocean early Sunday morning. The hurricane season reaches its statistical peak on Sept. 10, and forecasters are still predicting an above-average season.
