Tropical storm warning issued from Louisiana to Florida panhandle as Gulf system quickly develops

The National Hurricane Center posted tropical storm warnings for portions of the U.S. coast from Louisiana to Florida as a quickly developing system moved through the central Gulf of Mexico. Forecasters expect the system to strengthen into Tropical Storm Claudette before making landfall Saturday morning.
