Upland City Council interviews applicants for city attorney

In an effort to distance itself from past controversies, a new Upland City Council majority and elected mayor interviewed several candidates for city attorney Tuesday, Jan. 19, in closed session. The City Council did not make a decision on who the next city attorney will be. At the close of a seven-hour meeting conducted away from public view, Mayor Bill Velto said: “No action was taken.” The council did not say it would conduct more interviews.
