Former Broward schools supervisor gets 20 months in prison for accepting bribes

Ellis worked as a supervisor for the Physical Plant Operations Division of the Broward County School Board when he committed the crimes, prosecutors said. Federal authorities charged Richard Ellis, 50, with four counts of bribery and four counts of extortion in December. As part of a July 13 plea deal, the U.S. Attorney`s Office agreed to drop the extortion charges.
