It appears Gov. Gretchen Whitmer doesn`t gamble. While different types of businesses around Michigan have reopened in some capacity since the COVID-19 lockdown, the governor has maintained that the risk of spread at casinos is still too high to reopen them. Her executive orders have kept Detroit`s three casinos closed since mid-March. Tribal casinos are federally regulated, and many opened earlier this month.
