Politicians in Broward and Palm Beach counties are coasting back into into office — without facing voters on election day

A slew of politicians in Broward County, plus a few in Palm Beach County, are gliding back into office without having to face the tricky part of an election: facing the voters. From the County Commission to city halls to the state Capitol in Tallahassee, they were elected automatically last week when the mid-June deadline for candidates to qualify arrived, and no opposition surfaced.
