One year ago tomorrow the present arrived in mid-Michigan. It was an early-Christmas present that tied the past, the present and the future together. Just before noon on Dec. 2, 2018 it was announced that Jim McElwain would be taking over as the new Central Michigan University head football coach, replacing John Bonamego who was fired on Nov. 23 after leading the Chippewas to the worst season in program history.
