Lane closings and service adjustments also planned at the George Washington Bridge and Holland Tunnel The Bayonne Bridge will close tonight, Friday, August 18 at 10 p.m. to enable ongoing construction work on the bridge`s `Raise the Roadway` project. The bridge will reopen Sunday, August 20 at 3 p.m. to accommodate expected increases from beach traffic. During the period of construction work, downtown Bayonne traffic will be diverted at Fifth Street starting at 10 p.m. tonight. Traffic will divert back to Avenue A by 11:59 p.m. Saturday night. Once the bridge reopens on Sunday, it will remain open until 7 p.m....
