Massive fire in cable gallery, Obra power plant shut down

VARANASI: The 1,000MW Obra thermal power plant closed down after a major fire in its underground cable gallery in Sonbhadra on Sunday. The 9, 10 and 11 power production units of 200MW each were closed after fire broke out while two units of the plant were already closed for past few weeks on account of regular maintenance. An assistant engineer and a CISF jawan fell unconscious due to suffocation while trying to douse the fire....
