Jose Abreu homered and drove in three runs to improve his bid to join Joe DiMaggio and Albert Pujols as the only players with at least 25 homers and 100 RBIs in each of their first five seasons. Matt Davidson also went deep, as the White Sox claimed the rubber match of a three-game series in Detroit. Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann allowed both homers and all six Chicago runs, while White Sox starter Carlos Rodon lasted eight innings in his seventh straight quality start. Detroit almost overcame a three-run deficit with two runs in the ninth.
