High court takes up plea on dependent status of ex-serviceman´s married daughter

CHANDIGARH: Taking up a petition on whether daughter of a former defence personnel, working temporarily, would be entitled to a regular government job under dependent of ex-servicemen (DESM) quota after marriage, the Punjab and Haryana high court has sought reply from the Haryana government. The HC, however, has directed the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) to interview a woman candidate temporarily for the post of assistant professor (mathematics) under DESM category, before taking a final decision on the issue.
