LUCKNOW/NOIDA: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force on Sunday busted a gang which used the database of a popular shopping website to dupe nearly 600 customers in 20 cities in the country by promising them prizes in a lucky draw. The gang was busted after national security head of the website filed a complaint with UP STF about receiving 7,139 grievances from its customers. Out of these, 590 said they had been asked to pay extra to avail gifts. The customers were made to part with around Rs 50 lakh cumulatively in this manner, said officials of the STF.
