Punjab on alert as verdict in Sirsa dera chief´s case draws near

Patiala: As the verdict date in regard to sexual exploitation case registered against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh nears, Punjab police are making elaborate security arrangements to deal with any eventuality. The case is scheduled to be pronounced on August 25. Sharing the details, sources in the police department said respective senior superintendents of police (SSPs) and deputy commissioners (DCs) in the districts have been put on alert. Besides, sending in additional police and paramilitary forces to these areas, the officials have been asked to set up emergency helipads across Malwa region.
