Google is being sued by a games developer over COVID-19 rules

What you need to know Google has just been sued in the EU over its Play Store policies concerning COVID-19 references in apps and games. An app developer says these rules are too broad to be justifiable. Google currently bans any app from mentioning COVID-19 or the coronavirus in its title unless it is an official government service. An indie developer and FOSS advocate, Florian Mueller, has just filed a complaint with the European Commission over Apple and Google`s COVID-19 rules. With policies that came into force in March last year, the company restricted developers from referencing COVID-19 or the coronavirus in either title or description unless they were related to government agencies or recognized health authorities.
