Record-breaking whisky collection fetches more than £3.2m in first phase of sale

The world´s largest private whisky collection has broken several records in an online auction. The first part of the sale of Richard Gooding´s Perfect Collection achieved in excess of £3.2 million with the sale of more than 1,900 bottles, auctioneers said. Highlights included a rare Macallan 1926 Valerio Adami 60 Year Old, which sold for a hammer price of £825,000, breaking the previous hammer price of £702,347 set in October 2018, the company said.
