HAMLER — Delphos St. John’s stepped it up on defense when it needed to the most. Going into the final quarter, the Blue Jays and Miller City were tied at 30-30 with both teams playing smothering defense. In the fourth quarter, Delphos upped its defensive pressure and held Miller City scoreless in the first six minutes of the final period to go on a 14-0 run and help secure a 46-34 victory for the Blue Jays in the Division IV sectional opener Tuesday night at Patrick Henry.
