From Oct, motorbikes to have additional hand grips, footrests, protective covers to make journeys safer

From October this year, every motorcycle manufactured will need to have permanent hand grip on the side or behind the driver`s seat, a foot rest and a protective device covering not less than half of the rear wheel. While the first two provisions will bring comfort to the pillion riders, the third provision will help prevent the clothes of the pillion rider from being entangled in the wheel.
