Kempinski hotel unveils £12m diamond-covered Christmas tree

As Christmas decorations go, the new tree at Kempinski Hotel Bahia in Marbella has to be among the most extravagant around. Created by designer Debbie Wingham, the conifer is covered in pink, red, white and black diamonds. It also features jewellery from brands such as Bulgari, Cartier and Chanel, as well as more traditional decorations (though even these feature a mix of materials including 24 carat gold, diamond dust and ostrich eggs).
