FCC filing reveals forthcoming Autel EVO 2 drone
(Digital Photography Review)

According to a recent FCC filing, Autel is planning on releasing a follow up to its original EVO. The Autel EVO 2 will feature interchangeable gimbal modules. Remote pilots will be able to choose between an 8K camera, a 6K camera with a 1-inch sensor, or for those interested in inspections and mapping, a dual-sensor gimbal that can hold both an 8K and infrared camera. As DroneDJ reports, the Autel EVO 2 will feature 3 interchangeable gimbal modules: The 586 gimbal provides an 8K video camera that can capture still photos up to 48MP and record a maximum 8K/25p, 6K/30p, or 4K/60p video with a bit rate of up to 120Mbps. The 383 gimbal features an Ultra-HD camera with a 1-inch sensor to capture 6K video plus still photos up to 20MP. It will record a maximum 5.5K/60p or 4K/120p video and has an adjustable lens aperture from f/2.8 to f/11. The dual-sensor gimbal supports an infrared camera that can take infrared images of 640 x 512 or 320 x 256 and records video at a maximum 720p/30p in dual-image mode. It can support the same 8K video camera as the 586 gimbal. All 3 camera modules can save photos in DNG or JPG formats and video footage can be recorded in MOV or MP4. The camera modules also support: Single shot Burst mode Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) Time-lapse High-dynamic-range (HDR) imaging The original Autel EVO, released in June 2018, stood out amongst other drones in its class, including the Mavic Pro, Air, and Zoom, for the fact that it was able to capture 4K/60p video at a bitrate of 100Mbps in comparison to the industry standard maximum 4K/30p for a compact, foldable drone. With the EVO 2, Autel is aiming to seriously compete with drone market leader DJI by offering up a few other features that include: A rumored 35 minute maximum flight time 2 sensors on the front, rear, top, left, and right sides of the aircraft 4 bottom sensors 1 bottom LED light The EVO 2īs body is approximately 18 centimeters long ...
